Bio
Gordon Gottlieb is a recently retired human resources consultant .
His consulting work focused on the human resource and board development needs of diverse community-based nonprofit organizations, encompassing:
• HR assessments and audits;
• HR technical assistance;
• Coaching; and
• Training.
Current and recent projects include:
• Providing on-going human resource technical assistance for nonprofits without internal HR capacity;
• Analyzing staffing structures and clarifying roles and responsibilities;
• Facilitating the CEO evaluation process;
• Conducting salary surveys;
• Assessing/Analyzing the human resources function;
• Conducting comprehensive trainings on diverse supervisory, leadership, and management topics, often combined with follow-up one-on-one coaching;
• Writing comprehensive personnel policies;
• Providing confidential executive coaching services to CEOs and other senior staff that focus on: addressing challenging human resource issues, and developing and sustaining strong work relationships with subordinates, board members and key external stakeholders.
Previously Mr. Gottlieb held HR manager positions with the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee and Northeastern University. He holds a BA from Tufts University and a Master’s in Management (Human Resources concentration) from Lesley University. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Hyde Square Task Force, a youth empowerment organization in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts and previously was a member of the board of directors of the Women’s Lunch Place for 10 years. For years, he has participated in mock job interviews for current and aspiring college students through The Bottom Line, a college access program.
His professional affiliations include the Nonprofits Consultants Network (NCN) and the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). For five years, he was Guest Lecturer at Northeastern University’s School of Professional and Continuing Studies in their Nonprofit Management Program.
